We believe sustainable change is rooted in purposeful action and repeat education from multiple sources. Bonny Shade Speaks uses a 4 pronged approach to deliver quality and powerful education with the purpose of educating on and preventing sexual violence from multiple levels.

Students are going to learn, grow, and be purposeful in the way they begin to discuss this topic with each other. That is where real change happens- when they begin to challenge each other. We help teach and equip them with the data and knowledge of how.

Our proved learning outcomes (which are measured by our assessment) are specific to undergraduate student needs and include:

-       Develop empathy and understanding on the topic of sexual violence.

-       Understand the Sexual Violence Spectrum.

-       Understand and define consent; including how it looks in “real life.”

-       Develop intervention strategies.

-       Gain resources and skills to talk to a victim/survivor.

-       Examine personal and group specific social norms around the topic of sexual violence.

-       Create a group plan for trauma informed response through resources and empathy

-       Identify the core elements of healthy relationships.

-       Recognize signs of a Victim/Survivors Journey/Recognize everyone’s story is different.

-       Evaluate self-care and develop understanding of secondary trauma.
